Over-the-Counter Hearing Aids: What You Need to Know
Approximately 1 in 7 American adults struggle with hearing loss. The FDA just established a new OTC category — what does that mean for patients?
Plano, TX — March 9, 2021
US ENT Partners (US ENT) has entered into a collaborative partnership with Earlens Corporation to further support ENT practices around the country.
“We are committed to helping our members offer the highest level of patient care possible. Our traditional services let practices save money on top-quality supplies so that they can invest in areas that impact patients more directly. With this partnership, our members also have a unique opportunity to grow through a technology that is unlike any other.”
— Keith Matheny, MD — Founder, CEO & Chairman of US ENT
US ENT offers 17–20% discounts to ENT doctors for high-cost medical supplies and equipment, usually without the need for practices to switch from their preferred suppliers. Now, the Earlens partnership will allow US ENT's members priority access to a novel technology that is only available through select ENT practices in the U.S.
Earlens transmits sound information without an acoustic signal by gently vibrating the eardrum to activate the hearing system. As a result of its novel mechanism of action, Earlens nearly doubles the usable bandwidth of hearing aids, offering incredible sound quality without the limitations of conventional hearing devices.
“Our collaboration with US ENT is exciting because not only will we be able to expand the availability of Earlens nationwide, but more patients will be able to experience the advantages of physician involvement in the treatment of hearing impairment. This partnership also allows us to support our providers through more value-added practice-development services.”
